Cattery Volunteer Training demonstrates all the steps involved in a Cattery shift; you will observe trained volunteers at work. The trainer covers how to handle situations that might arise (dumped cats, for example). Volunteers will be shown the Recovery Room and how to care for the cats. Cattery volunteering includes moving cats to the play area, scrubbing cages, washing bowls, giving medications, feeding, doing laundry, mopping the floor and whatever else the shift leader directs. Please wear clothes and shoes that protect you from sanitizers, slipping, scratches, etc; gloves are provided if requested.
NOTE: Cattery Training Session is only for those who can volunteer for the 8 am shift (but training may take place during other times of the day). Training for PM shift is available to volunteers who have completed 4 or more AM shifts and is conducted one month per quarter with multiple openings available.
